1.
How can I download my completed images?
There are three ways to download your files. From the Mister Clipping website you can download individual images by clicking the download icon under each file: You can also download all the files in one single compressed ZIP file from the website. You can also download the files using the FTP details you were supplied with during the upload process. Your completed images will be stored in the subfolder called ‘clipped’.
2.
How do I upload the images using FTP?
After clicking ‘add job’, you will get three upload options. By clicking ‘Upload with FTP’, you will be given more detailed information on where to upload your files.
We strongly recommend using an FTP client such Fetch, CyberDuck or Transmit on Mac or FileZilla on Windows, rather than connecting to our FTP server (ftp://www.misterclipping.com) using your browser because of the different browser and firewall settings.
Please click here for tutorials.
3.
I cannot access your FTP server using FTP Fetch.
Because our FTP server is not a standard FTP server but a specifically designed FTP server there are some limitations. If you login to our FTP server using FTP Fetch it will show a list of folders named by job number. Please right click with your mouse on the job number that you have been given and click ‘open’. There you will see two subfolders named ‘original’ and clipped’. Please right click with your mouse on ‘original’ and click ‘open’.
4.
I cannot upload the images using Fetch.
To choose this option you need to have your own FTP server and create a folder on it which includes all the images that need clipping (no compressed files but separate JPG, PSD, EPS or TIF files). When you click ‘Use FTP Fetch’ you need to fill in some fields including your FTP host, username, password and the directory where the images are located. Please click here for a tutorial on how to use FTP Fetch.
5.
I cannot upload the images via FTP on your website.
In some cases browser settings make it impossible to use FTP directly via your browser. We therefore strongly recommend you use an FTP client such as FileZilla (for Windows/Mac users) or Fetch (for Mac users).
6.
I use an FTP client but cannot upload the images and keep getting a ‘critical transfer error’.
Are you uploading to the correct directory? After clicking ‘add job’ via the website, a folder with an automatically generated job number is created on the FTP server. Inside that folder you will find two subfolders named ‘original’ and ‘clipped’. You always need to put the files in the folder named ‘original’.
7.
What is FTP Fetch and how to use it?
FTP Fetch is a tool that allows you to make connection between our FTP and your FTP. In that way, you enable our FTP server to automatically grab the files from your specified destination folder on your FTP. For more information about using FTP Fetch, please click for a tutorial.
8.
Can I send a CD or DVD with images instead of uploading via your website?
If you are not able to use FTP, FTP Fetch or upload images using your browser, perhaps because the files are too large and take too long to be uploaded, you can also send us the material on a CD or DVD. We will make sure the material is uploaded to your account and email you when the images are clipped. As most internet connections offer faster downloads than uploads, you will then be able to download the images from our website, although we can also post the images to you. An additional charge applies for this service.
Please contact sales@misterclipping.com or call +31(0)23 542 1530 for more information.
9.
Can I send compressed images such as zip, winrar, or sitx?
No, it is not possible to upload compressed files. This is because our online application can only recognise, process and create thumbnails from image formats such as JPG, TIF, PSD, EPS, etc.
10.
Do you also provide additional graphic design services besides isolating images?
At Mister Clipping, handmade clipping paths are our specialty and the only focus. However, it is possible to request additional graphic services such as creating shadows after clipping, resizing images to specified sizes, add a colormask to the images and cropping and rescaling the images:
Color mask:

Resizing:

Dropshadow:

Rescaling and cropping:

Please contact us at sales@misterclipping.com or +31(0)23 542 1530 for more information about additional graphic design services.
11.
How can I change my password?
Your password can be changed by clicking on the My Account tab after logging in where you can also change other account details such as your contact address or email.
12.
How long does it take to clip the images?
In general, we apply a 24 hours deadline for images varying from 50 to 150 files. Sometimes, we need 48 hours when dealing with large amounts of files (and file sizes). Files up to 50 are normally done in less than 24 hours and even within 8 working hours. Please keep in mind the file sizes (large file sizes will take some time to upload/download) and the complexity of the images (complex images will take longer to process).
We will inform you by email if your images need more than 24 hours to clip. Other than that, you can always expect to receive your images back in less than 24 hours.
13.
I cannot open my PDF-invoice when I download it from my account.
If you cannot open your PDF-invoice you need to download the latest version of Adobe Reader here. http://www.adobe.com/es/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
14.
I don’t like a clipped image. Can I reject it?
At Mister Clipping it is very easy to reject an image if you feel it has not been clipped correctly. When you receive an email notifying you that your job has been completed you can login to download the files. Under each image you will find icons including ‘approve’ and ‘reject’. Simply click on the reject button and add a comment explaining why you feel it has not been clipped correctly. Then click ‘confirm results’. You will then be able to download the rest of the images, while the rejected file will be given a new job number and re-clipped at no additional cost.
15.
I have images of people that require masking instead of clipping. Can Mister Clipping also mask images?
Yes, we do masking. This technique is recommended for images where it is hard to determine what is part of the object and what is part of the background. Examples include images of glass or hair. Masking an object means that the background pixels are removed while some pixels within the object are made transparent. In this way, a glass remains a glass if you place it on a different background. If you want MisterClipping to mask your images, please add a short comment in the description field stating ‘masking’. Please note that in order to have your files masked you need to upload files that support masking: EPS, TIF, PNG or PSD.
16.
I have specific instructions, how can I let you know?
When you add a new job, the website shows a “description” box in which you can type instructions applying to the entire order. is also possible to attach specific instructions to individual images. After uploading your files, simply click the yellow pencil icon under each image. A pop-up box allows you to add requests and comments, for example which object in the image needs to be clipped.
17.
I need my images back urgently. Can you give priority or do you provide any express service for urgent jobs?
At Mister Clipping we handle all orders as quickly as possible. If the number of images, the formats and complexity levels allow it, we will hand clip them and upload the images within 24 hours. For smaller quantities of files the time is usually much less than 24 hours. If you have a really urgent job, please communicate this to us via the job description and we will give it priority for return within the desired deadline.
18.
What format do you provide clipped images in?
You will normally receive exactly the same file format that you sent to us. JPGs will be returned as JPGs, TIFs as TIFs etc. If you upload JPG files and want PSD files back, please add this in the description field or upload the original files as PSD files.
19.
How long does it take to review the images?
Generally, we review everything directly after you click ‘request offer’ and you get a quotation in a matter of minutes. However, depending on the number of images, this take up to an hour. An email offering you a price for hand clipping your images will be sent to you automatically when the review has finished.
20.
How much does it cost to clip my images?
The cost depends on the complexity of the image. We charge per image instead of per hour and so have divided the complexity levels into four categories. An image of a box (complexity one) is much easier to clip than an image of a bike (complexity five). When you upload your files, you can request a price quotation which you will receive by email within minutes.
For more information on pricing, please click here, contact us at sales@misterclipping.com or call +31(0)23 542 1530.
21.
I want to use the free trial, but have received a price offer and am being asked to make a payment?
You do not need to pay to have your first image clipped. Simply accept the offer, and instead of being taken to the payment screen, your job will be processed. This means the trial allows you to experience exactly how easy Mister Clipping is and gives you an indication of what our prices are for images similar to the one you have uploaded.
22.
I cannot upload the images via the website.
Please check whether any of the following may apply:
-
Internet browser settings: Browser types and settings will vary from user to user and it is not possible to have an application which can cope with every single permutation. First of all, please check your firewall settings. Unfortunately, the newest version of Safari does not support uploading via the website, but you can still use MisterClipping. Please either login using another browser or choose “Upload with FTP” or “FTP Fetch”.
-
Flash player: It is important that the Macromedia Flash player is installed on your computer otherwise the pop-up window in which you can select your files won’t appear. It can be downloaded from here.
-
File settings: The MisterClipping application does not recognise files with multiple or transparent layers. It could be that the files are successfully uploaded but do not show as a thumbnail. We therefore advise you to upload files with flattened layers and on an opaque background. If you want to send them with a transparent background, please create low resolution JPGs of these files and upload them as well so that they can appear in thumbnail.
-
Time out error: If, for whatever reason, images are uploading very slowly via the website, you may get a time out error. In that case, you simply need to sign in again, check the uploaded files and continue with the remaining files as required.
23.
I uploaded some images via the website and keep seeing the ‘timer’ icon running but nothing shows in the thumbnail?
If uploading via the website takes time because the number or size of files is extremely large, you may get a time out error. If so, please sign out and sign in again. In the job overview you will see your job and the number of images which have been successfully uploaded. If some images have not been transferred successfully, simply click ‘upload’ and proceed with uploading the unsuccessful files.
24.
My images are not shown in thumbnails after uploading. Why?
There could be a number of reasons for this. Please check whether any of the following may apply.
Our web-based application uses Flash and its components, so please make sure you have the most recent Flash player installed. You can download it from here. Also please make sure your browser and firewall settings allow the use of Flash and its components.
Have you uploaded unsupported file formats or compressed files such as ZIP, RAR or SITX? If so, please extract these files or resave them as image files such as JPG, TIF, PSD and EPS.
Have you only uploaded supported file formats but there is still nothing visible? Please check the file settings. When uploading TIF or PSD files, make sure you upload a ‘flat image’ without multiple or transparent layers. The thumbnail viewer can only generate previews of images that have one flat original or coloured background.
If you still encounter difficulties, please contact us via +31(0)23 542 1530 or email support@misterclipping.com.
25.
Some images I uploaded do not show correctly in the thumbnail.
On rare occasions, files may be corrupted or only partially transferred during the uploading process. Use the red circle below these images to remove them and try to upload them again.
26.
What file formats can I upload?
You can upload a wide variety of file formats, including JPG, TIF, PSD and EPS files. It is also possible to upload GIF, BMP and PNG files as well but please note that some of these file formats do not support a clipping path or a transparent background. You will instead receive the image back with a white background and/or without a clipping path.
