Start by uploading your images. This can be done in several ways.
-
Via the website
-
Via FTP
-
Via FTP Fetch

During and after uploading (regardless of the method) the images will appear as thumbnails* in the “Images” box. (You can open and close this box by clicking on the triangle.) You can use the thumbnails as an overview of the uploaded images, to remove unwanted images and to add instructions that apply to a specific image (see Step 5. Adding instructions).

Delivery methods:
Uploading via the website

In the pop-up, you can browse your computer for the image you want to have processed. Before you click “Upload” you can add to the list by again browsing and choosing an image (series of images: SHIFT+select; one specific image: COMMAND+select or CTRL+select). During the uploading process you will see a progress bar. It is not possible to browse or empty the list while uploading.

A status bar is shown during the uploading process. It is not possible to browse for images or empty the list during uploading.

Once the images have been uploaded, you can choose additional images to upload or close the window.
Uploading via FTP

-
To upload images via FTP, first create a new job;
-
Then login to our FTP server using an FTP program;
-
Go to the folder with the corresponding job number;
-
Here you will find a folder marked “original”; drag the individual images to this folder.

NB: We recommend you do not use a browser for FTP transfers. This is due to the variations in browser and firewall settings. To increase performance, we highly recommend you use an FTP client, such as Transmit, FileZilla or Fetch. You can copy and paste host name, use name and password into your FTP client.
Fetch the files from my server (FTP Fetch)

Create a folder on your FTP server;
Add the images to this folder; (PLEASE NOTE: images must be added individually, not in subfolders or ZIP files)
Choose FTP Fetch and enter the FTP details and the exact folder location (FTP Directory) into the lightbox

Test the FTP settings by clicking “Check FTP settings.”

If the test is successful, click “Start FTP Fetch.”

Mister Clipping will automatically fetch your images. In all cases, a thumbnail overview showing successfully “downloaded” images is generated in real-time.

NB: Existing customers can add default FTP settings through “Settings” (see Step 14). These will automatically be entered, when using FTP Fetch. Because, in that case, the settings have already been tested, you do not have to retest them and can start the fetch straight away. During and after the process, an icon in the “Images” box will show the status of the upload. A tooltip shows the meaning of the icon. While waiting and during the process itself, the FTP settings cannot be changed, but the uploading can be canceled. “Wait for start” means that another download is in process.
NB: File types
* Thumbnails can only be created from the following file formats: JPEG, EPS, TIF, PSD, PNG, BMP, and GIF. It is possible that images with more than one layer and/or a transparent background may not appear as a thumbnail. However, uploading these files to our server is nearly always successful and the images can be processed as usual.
It is not possible to upload compressed files (ZIP, Sitx or Winrar), because the application cannot create thumbnails of anything other than images.
Transparency
If you need your images to be placed on a transparent background, upload these images as TIF, PNG or PSD files and add a specific request to the “Processing” field.
Alpha channels
If you need an Alpha channel to be created, please detail this in the appropriate field and upload files that support Alpha channel.
Generally, you will receive your images in the same format as the original. JPGs are returned as JPG, TIF as TIF, etc. If you upload JPG files, but want PSD files returned to you, please indicate this in the “Processing” field or upload the original in PSD. Images that are to be masked are an exception to this rule; these files (for example JPGs) are returned as TIF or PSD.
