Adding instructions

Isolating images

Our standard procedure:

  • First, a hand-made clipping path is created (1 or 2 pixels inside the edge of the object);
  • Then the clipping path is selected (2 pixels out);
  • And the selection is reversed;
  • We remove the background;
  • And replace it with a white background.

We will return the image in the same file type in which we receive it, but now with a white background and a clipping path.

If you have alternative or additional requirements, please add these as instructions. You can do this both for the entire job and for individual images.

Alternative / additional instructions

In addition to isolating images, Mister Clipping can also retouch, resize, crop or add shadows or mirroring to your images. We are also often asked to create work paths or masks. The options are endless.

Please make any (additional) wishes or requirements known in the job‘s (or image’s) “Processing” field or contact Mister Clipping support to discuss the options.

Examples of alternative / additional processing and instructions:

  • Masking or alpha channels instead of clipping paths

  • Specifics concerning file types (upon return)

  • Special instructions (concerning the object)

Additional processing, such as:

  • Individual work paths /masks

  • Cropping images

  • Resizing images

  • Creative processing

  • Image masking

  • “Invisible man”

  • Color processing

  • Recoloring

  • Retouching

  • Adding shadows

  • Adding mirror effects

NB: Please bear in mind the (im)possibilities of certain file formats: Does the format support transparency? Does the format support layers? Etc.

Masking or alpha channels instead of clipping paths
If you prefer having images processed using, for example, masks or alpha channels, upload your files in TIF, PNG, EPS or PSD and add specific instructions to the “Processing” field concerning the use of masking or alpha channels.

Instructions for the job as a whole

If you have special instructions that apply to the entire job, you can add these to the “Processing” field (instructions at job level).

Instructions per image

It is also possible to add instructions for each individual image. This can be done by clicking the pencil below the thumbnail. A lightbox will then be shown to which image-specific special instructions can be added.

If you add general instructions to the job as a whole, these will also appear in this lightbox. This allows you to make acceptations for specific images by changing or deleting the instructions and clicking “Save instructions.”

After adding instructions, the pencil icon will turn orange. This will give you a good overview of the images to which you have added instructions.
